The role of education in the face of climate change in Colombia
As part of the “Education Forum : Fundación Barco”, Djian Sadadou, head of communications and networks at the Office for Climate Education (OCE) will present a speech to the public decision-makers and teachers at the University of Los Andes in Bogota in Colombia, October 18, 2023.
The conference entitled “The role of education in the face of climate change” aims to present and propose solutions for implementing climate change education in schools through an interdisciplinary approach, active pedagogies and the investigation approach. Through the ALEC (Latin America for Climate Change Education) project, the OCE continues its ambitions to train teachers and improve their understanding of the issues linked to climate change in Latin America. Conference participants will be asked to question the practice and the implementation of climate change education based on the pedagogical proposed by the OCE and uses within various projects. Other related themes will be addressed such as the importance of the educational question in the problem of climate change and the challenges associated with it.
On this occasion, as part of the ALEC project (Latin America for Climate Education), the members of the OCE will also visit the Colombian educational institutions that are partners in the project.
