Creativity in Education Summit
On November 23rd and 24th, the Office for Climate Education (OCE) will participate in a panel discussion at the Annual Creativity in Education Summit organized in Paris by the Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) and the Global Creative Thinking Institute.
The Annual Creativity in Education Summit gathers education leaders, policymakers, researchers, and industry stakeholders, all committed to promoting creativity in education. The 2023 edition will focus on the future of creativity in education, exploring its connections with artificial intelligence and highlighting the importance of learning for teachers and trainers.
Simon Klein, Scientist Officer at the OCE, will participate in a panel discussion named "Learning Creatively and Critically about Climate Change”, alongside Laure Siéfert, a design professor at the DSAA. This conversation aims to explore how creativity can support concrete actions on climate change. The session will draw on recent examples of lesson plans published by the OECD, showcasing possible ways to integrate creativity and critical thinking into climate education.
Since 2021, the Office for Climate Education has been affiliated with the Higher Diploma in Applied Arts (DSAA) in Graphic Design at Jacques Prévert High School in Boulogne-Billancourt since 2021. As part of this collaboration, OCE and DSAA are jointly exploring how design contributes to pedagogical practices in climate change education.
