Supertroupers - Biodiversity

In this episode of The Supertroupers comic series, the characters are rehearsing Aristophanes' play “The Birds”, when a bee suddenly appears on stage. The group wonders what should be done about the bee and decides to visit the village beekeeper to better understand how bees live and what role they play in ecosystems.

Through their discussions, they learn what biodiversity is and the different forms it can take on our planet:

  • Genetic variability
  • Species diversity
  • Ecosystem diversity

These lessons are then integrated into their play, culminating in a spectacular finale.

At a time when the concept of biodiversity can be subjective, especially for pupils, this episode gives teachers the opportunity to convey shared values such as environmental protection and the preservation of animal species.
