The II International Conference on Climate Change Education will be held remotely from June 23 to 25 and will bring together representatives of governments, society and international experts under the theme "Strengthening Networks for Action".
The conference is organized by the University of Chile in collaboration with the Scientific Inquiry Program for Science Education ICEC 2019 - 2021 MINEDUC, through the Climate and Resilience Science Center (CR)2, the Center for Advanced Research in Education and the ECBI Program, by the Office for Climate Education (OCE), by UNESCO Regional, and by the Siemens Stiftung International Foundation.

The conference is based on the concept that climate change education is urgent and that schools, as well as non-formal education bodies, should be considered as a driver of community transformation. Therefore, during the three days of the meeting, more than 20 experts will give talks and workshops aimed at a general public, teachers and students, hosted by the Office for Climate Education team from Paris, the (CR)2 team and EBCI, as well as international guests. The workshops are open and free, upon registration.

Program and participants
Last year, the participants of the first version of the International Conference on Education on Climate Change drafted the document "Santiago 2019 Agreement", which promotes intersectoral collaborative work, placing education as a central and concrete vector to advance towards sustainable development and the urgent agenda of education on climate change; work that will be deepened in the second edition of this meeting.
The conference will feature keynote speeches such as "The importance and urgency of Educating on Climate Change", by Pierre Lena of OCE; "Sustainable Development in Territories - ODS 11", by Brigitte Baptiste, Rector of the University EAN-Bogotá, Colombia; "Climate Change and Governance", by Maisa Rojas, Director of (CR)2; and "Pandemic and Mental Health", by Rodolfo Sapiains, researcher at the same center. The webinars will include Ana María Loose, Director of the Ecuador Ecology Project; Miguel Rubio, Director of the INECOL Institute in Mexico; Cecilia Duque, UNESCO Consultant and member of the SAI Project in Colombia; Esteban van Dam, Director of the NGO 500 RPM in Argentina; among others. Representatives from the Ministries of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Environment will also participate.
